Situated on the Vistula River, Warsaw is a city destroyed and rebuilt. 85 % has been destroyed, including the Old Town and the Royal Castle. One part was then rebuilt, other parts were replaced with the well-known communist cubicals.

Considered the cultural capital of Poland and one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, Krakow is said to have been built around the cave where King Krak killed a dragon. Krakow is an important city in economical and tourist terms, being a city you must visit in Poland. Lodz is considered to be “the city of one street”  according to the “100 most beautiful places in Poland”.

 

Warsaw

Destroyed in the Second World War by repeated bombing, Warsaw has little of the old buildings before, but it is still one of the 3 cities you must see in Poland. In the center, you can not miss even if you wantto  the Palace of Culture and Science, a huge building, built by the communists, which has been a “gift” from the Soviet Union to Poland. If you visit Warsaw, you definitely have to see the Old Town, rebuilt after the war, which is protected by UNESCO.

Meanwhile, the city is constantly modernized, filled everywhere with skyscrapers and new buildings. It is worldwide famous the Polish tradition in terms of posters, so you should visit the Poster Museum as well. Spend some time at the museum dedicated to the Polish ghetto.

The city of Warsaw is divided into 18 districts. As an interesting fact: a street in Warsaw is named after Winnie-the-Pooh.

Close to Warsaw, near Lowicz, you will find the Arkadia, a park built in romantic style for Princess Helena Radziwill. With an ancient air, with temples, columns and hiding places, the park is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe.

Krakow

In the city of Krakow in Poland apart from a large number of museums and galleries, you can visit the Old Town, medieval places, the Jewish part called Kazimierz, the scene of the events in Schindler’s List or the Wawel Castle. You should also visit the Basilica of Our Lady, Kraków’s main place of worship since the 13th century. Krakow is a city where you walk from one end to the other, to stop at the Japanese Art and Technology Center or to drink a “tatanka” on a terrace.

Lodz

Lodz is a Polish city that must be visited. It is crossed by the longest shopping street in Europe, called the Piotrkowska, which is 4 km long. It is the second largest city of Poland and an important economic center.  Here we find the largest park within a city in Europe.
