Your discovery of the Best of Poland may starts with just a short getaway over the weekend. Definitely if you are going as a couple, you will want to include the beautiful part of Poland with the ruins and romantic temples. Usually you will be recommended to the unmistakable UNESCO world heritage sites such as the Auschwitz Birkenau where the German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp was from 1940 to 1945.

However, we are not going to stop just there. In Malbork, there is an interesting Castle of the Teutonic Order founded around 1190 in Palestine and in Wroclaw, the Centennial Hall.

Other sights such as the Kalwaria Zebrzydowska: the Mannerist Architectural and Park Landscape Complex, Pilgrimage Park and the Medival Town of Torun are great cultural sites to check out as well.

Bia?owie?a Forest

If you like natural properties, be sure to see the Belovezhskaya Pushcha / Bia?owie?a Forest in Poland, it is a paradise for romantics and lovers of nature. The best time to see it is summer and autumn. However, if you are into skiing, this place is fantastic during the winter.

Jurassic Rocks

Czestochowa at the heart of Krakowsko-Czestochowska Upland with picturesque Jurassic rocks, and Jasna Gora Monastery (the biggest Marian sanctuary in Poland). Most Poles treat it as an important pilgrimage destination. It is a main cult place of Virgin Mary, so if you follow what is known as the ‘Black Madonna of Czestochowa’ crowned in 1656 as the Queen and Protector of Poland, you will find this place an interesting destination to add into your itinerary.

Gdansk

Gdansk (Danzig) is a maritime city situated next to beautiful beaches. The climate is gentle and being there seeing its famous seaside resort called ‘Sopot’. Explore the Old Town, the largest brick Gothic Church in the world, Gdansk is the place which witnessed the birth of the Solidarity movement in 1980, ending the Communism, a place with lots of complex history.

Masurian Lakes

Masurian Lakes has 3000 lakes, thus it draws sailing fans, hikers, fishermen, cyclists or anyone who seeks tranquility and serenity. Historical castles such as Reszel, Nidzica and Gizycho, baroque church in Swieta Lipka and Hitler’s HQ at Ketrzyn.

Tatra Mountains

The Tatra Mountains is where the highest mountain range between the Alps and the Caucasus. All-year snow covered the rocky peaks. Picturesque ponds, spectacular waterfalls and valleys. Hikers and skiers heaven of 250 kilometres of trails and challenging slopes. This is where Zakopane town is ideal if you love original folk culture.

Besides exploring the capital of Poland, Warsaw, Wroclaw (Breslau) has a huge Old Town connected over 100 bridges is yet another interesting destination. Lower Silesia (Dolny Slask) amazes visitors with a plenitude of Gothic, Baroque and Art Nouveau architectures. An one-in-all place with cultural influences of Bohemia, Austria, Germany and Poland – that’s Wroclaw. During our trip to Poland, we saw the Wieliczka Salt Mine which was really a wonderful experience, so it is really worthwhile for you to schedule half a day there too.
