The Katowicki Park Leśny is also the Forest Park of Katowice with a huge land area of 420 hectares. This amazing place is between highways, train tracks, airports, coal mines as well as apartment blocks. This wooded wilderness just does not make you feel you are in Katowice. It is a protected natural Forest park territory including the Valley of Three Ponds. Boar, wild ones, deers can be found through the woods and miles and miles of it contains the marking of trails. If you enjoy the nature, here is where you can swim, fish, sail, camp. Most of all, you can eat, and see sculptures, and enjoy the simple pleasures of the garden. Getting there is by bus no. 674 or even no. 910. There is a shopping mall near the Valley of the Three Ponds.

Zadole Park

It is now part of the Katowice districts of Upper Silesian metropolitan union. Previously, it was a hamlet or small village of Piotrowice. What you can see there is a park and an amphitheater. Eight hundred people can sit in that big amphitheater at once. Now, there is also a swimming-pool complex, a playground for children, a café and some walking alleys. Before, it was a convention location and venue for Polish bands and choirs. There are also tennis courts and it is absolutely free of charge to play tennis there. The other park you can go to is Bolina Park. Almost one third of Poland is of forested area. It is interesting for nature lovers to visit the Republic of Poland if you are traveling around the central Europe and wanting to see the recent development of Poland after 1989 when the communist rule of Poland was overthrown.

One of the most popular place is Dolina Trzech Stawów, also known more commonly as Valley of Three Ponds. Again another big leisure space of 125 hectares. There is a small airfield and basically this Valley Three Ponds is the woodless areas where you can see a seasonal campground, eat in the fine restaurants namely La Cantina and Pan de Rossa. If you like tennis, there are tennis courts here with inspiring views. Beach goers will like this place as you can bathe here or go to the other for water sports. Fishing activities are allowed on permit obtained. Nature lovers can do running, hiking, picnicking, cycling and sledding in the cold winter season. It is best to go there by bicycle, the same way by bus to get to the Forest of Katowice.
