In the northeastern lakes of Poland is the region of Masuria with two thousand lakes. It has been included a the New7Wonders of Nature. Other than the forests, this place is great for people who enjoys outdoor activites such as kayaking. Also for those who likes swimming as well as sailing. The ?niardwy being the largest lake of twenty-three meters depth is a must see. Totally there are eight islands. Amongst which are the resort towns namely Pisz, Gi?ycko and Miko?ajki, Ryn, W?gorzewo and I?awa.

Pisz

In the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, you can find the town called Pizsz that is situated at the junction of Pisa River and Lake Ros. Lake Ros is a S-shaped glacial lack while the Pisa river is a tributary of the Narew. The old historic monument St. John’s church is one of the highlights. The others include the Neo-Gothic Town Hall and the Pisz Land Museum. This place is ideally for nature lovers who loves fields and meadows, forests of mushrooms and berries. Picturesque river, canals and you can spend your vacation time experiencing both oceanic and continental climates.

Gi?ycko

The ancient fortress on Gi?ycko called the Boyen Fortress is one of the highlights. It was built around 1850s as a border protection and named after General Hermann von Boyen who used to be the Prussian minister of war at that time. You should also check out the Rotary Bridge and is specially. People also go there to see the Water Tower. It is seven-storey high in a neo-Gothic style.

Miko?ajki a very attractive town on the north-eastern part of Poland has a village called Ze?w?gi. Other than historic buildings of the 18th and 19th centuries, the town of Mikolajki has a Wildlife Park. The zoo is also great for families with children and you can arrange to visit the restored traditional house in the zoo. Mikolajki can be reach by plane. And if you plan to get there by rail, you can take the Berlin-Mikolajki route. Visitors can make their way by car from Warsaw to Mikolajki. Try the local Pierogi with meat or cabbage. Those with fruits are very interesting to taste too. The area is famous for their smoked fish that are freshly caught from the lakes. Finally the baked duck in the old style is another speciality. On offers are also excellent Polish Vodka and Beers.
