Lodz is one of the most interesting cities in Poland. It is one of the largest cities in the country and it can be a perfect place for any visitor.

It has huge green areas, as large parks and forests, being the most green town in the country. It is the city of culture and fun and it’s a perfect place for shopping. You can visit the city at any time of the year to take part of festivals and events.

The Piotrkowska Street

The Piotrkowska Street is one of the most important tourist attractions, being the main street in the city of Lodz and it is full of shops, restaurants, cafes and street performers. It is longer than 5 km, being the largest commercial street in the world. The historical architecture of the street is impressive, it has many restored 19th century buildings. The best way to explore the area is by foot, but we can try a ricksha that transports visitors up and down the street.

Lodz Opera House

The beautiful Opera House (Teatro Wielki) was originally opened in 1967, and hosted ballet, opera and operetta performances. The theater is a famous tourist attraction because it hosts events that also include exhibitions, such as the International Film Festival and the New Year’s Ball. We can find an event calendar on the Opera’s official website, and tickets can be bought in person, at the theater’s ticket office.

Museum of the Factory

The museum presents the 19th century factory life of the city of Lodz. We can see posters, documents, and even original wool pattern made in the factory. The Museum of Factory is opened from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 am to 7 pm and the ticket costs 4PLN for adults.

Museum of Modern Art

As one of Europe’s oldest museum of modern art, this wonderful gallery offers a huge variety of collection in genres like Cubism, Futurism and Surrealism. Beneath the paintings we can also find sculptures and photos, and the temporary exhibitions are presenting the works of new talents. The Museum of Art is opened seven days a week, and the entrance is free for visitors on Thursdays.

Film Museum

Lodz is well known for its creativity especially in the film industry, which can beautifully seen in the Film Museum that exhibits the works of the Polish cinematic. An adult ticket is 5PLN, and the entrance is free for visitors on Tuesdays.
