Getting ready the Zloty

Zloty (zl) is the main currency use in Poland today. It consists of denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 zloty. Other than these bills, there are coins such as 5, 2 and 1 zloty. However, if you are just at the next border of Poland, getting there by bus is also a good choice as the trans-European carrier like the Eurolines allows you to get to large Polish cities very conveniently.

Getting to Poland by Car

If you can drive, accessing Poland by car is also a good alternative. The Polish highways are integrated into the larger EU highway grid and if you are entering from Germany or Slovakia, you do not have to show the passport anymore. Other such EU country that gives you the flexibility are entering from Czech Republic and Lithuania. The usual border controls are still taking effect for getting into Poland from Ukraine, Russian Federation or Belarus.
