Depending on how much time you are willing to do the transfers, Krakow has really many ski resorts to offer. Other than weather conditions, the traffic conditions such as off-peak times, you can pick from Lysa Gor or Rabki which is just within an hour from the Krakow airport. Lysa has two kilometers of downhill skiing. This place is great for snowboard breaks or short holidays since it is just two hours drive away and get on any of the three individual pistes as quickly as you can. There are only three ski lifts and a range of skiing facilities to suit your ability. For Rabki, in one hour, it can manage to uplift about 1500 skiers. Other than these two ski resorts, there are further ones like Zakopane, Nosal and Bukowina Tatrzanska. You can also go to Certovica, Czarna Gora or even the Zawoja. For these, they are about 1.5 hours away from the Krakow airport.

Ski Zakopane

It was originally a 17th century forestry settlement. Zakopane is a lovely town with seven ski areas all around. You can try any of the fifty ski lifts, some short drag lifts and some privately owned which you will need tickets. The nearest is the Kasprowy Wierch with a high Alpine ski in two treeless bowls. You can also go to the other nearby ski area such as Nosal or Gubalowka. Some world ski championships had been held here. Whether they are winter universaiades or biathlon, ski jump world cups or even Nordic combined Alpine European Cups, Zakopane really is a beautiful Polish ski resort with many activities to offer.

The usual après ski activities are skating, cross country skiing, floodlit skiing and even sledging. Some pubs are interesting to visit like the British-style pub called Paparazzi, check out its posh interior design and also their drinks menu. You can also try the outdoor seating next to a mountain stream if the weather is good. To name a few places to chill, they are the Piano Bar, Café Sanacjae and Ballada, or even Rockus which is more for dancing. Cross-country skiing on ski trails like the Rówień Krupowa is a great one for beginners. It is about 4.5 kilometers of tracks and located at Górna Rówień Krupowa. Another is 8 kilometers on the Tatra Mountains. So it has a lovely view and it is called the Jaszczurówka – Bory.
